Une vidéo commémorant le 10e anniversaire de Marru, une entreprise d’Hiroshima qui fabrique des sous-vêtements respectueux du corps.
Lors de la conception d’une histoire visant à transmettre la signification de « Marru » et du « cycle de la vie » à un public international, nous avons découvert un album illustré.
« Freddie la Feuille », du Dr Leo F. Buscaglia, pédagogue américain.
Cet album met en scène Freddie, une feuille d’érable, qui enseigne aux enfants le cycle et l’importance de la vie.
Né au printemps, Freddie passe l’été et l’automne. À l’arrivée de l’hiver, il voit ses amis tomber un à un et explique qu’il retournera lui aussi à la terre, nourrira la vie et renaîtra au printemps.
Nous avons créé une vidéo conceptuelle intitulée « Le Cercle Naturel » inspirée par ce cycle de la vie.
À la fin de sa vie, le Dr Buscaglia enseigna les sciences de l’éducation à son ancienne université, l’Université de Californie du Sud, et y anima un séminaire non crédité intitulé « Love 1A ».
Il consacra sa vie à l’éducation, s’intéressant notamment à l’éducation à la vie, à l’importance de la vie et aux liens entre les individus au sein de la société.
Ses œuvres, « LOVE » (1972) et « The Fall of Freddie the Leaf » (1982), sont nées de ce séminaire.

While brainstorming how to convey the concepts of “Marru” (wholeness/harmony) and the “cycle of life” to an international audience, and as we were solidifying our concept design, we came across a specific photographic picture book.
It was *The Fall of Freddie the Leaf* by the American educator Dr. Leo F. Buscaglia.
This photographic picture book features Freddie, a maple leaf, and teaches children about the cycle and preciousness of life.
Born in the spring, Freddie lives through summer and autumn; as winter arrives and he watches his friends drift away one by one, he learns that he, too, will return to the earth to nourish new life—ultimately to be born again in the spring.
We titled this cycle of life “Natural Circle” and created a concept video based on the theme.
In his later years, Dr. Buscaglia taught education at his alma mater, the University of Southern California, where he held a non-credit seminar called “Love 1A.”
He dedicated his life to education, focusing on themes such as the nature and value of life and the connections between people in society.
Works such as *Love* (1972) and *The Fall of Freddie the Leaf* (1982) emerged from that seminar.

「まある」「いのちの巡り」この意味合いが海外の人々にも伝わるような話にしようと頭を巡らせ、コンセプトデザインを固める中で、１つの写真絵本に出会いました。
アメリカの教育学者 レオ・バスカーリア(Dr. Leo F Buscaglia)著『葉っぱのフレディ』
子供たちに ”いのち” の巡りや大切さを教える、楓の葉っぱ、フレディが主人公の写真絵本です。
春に生まれたフレディが、夏や秋を過ごし、冬になって友達が一枚一枚散っていくのを見ながら、自分も大地に返って新しい生命を育てる糧となり、春にまた生まれてくるというのを教えています。
この ”いのち” の巡りをNatural Circleと題して、1本のコンセプトビデオを作りました。
Dr. バスカーリアは、 後年、母校である南カリフォルニア大学で、教育学の教鞭をとり、”Love 1A” という単位のないゼミを開催されていたそうです。
いのちの教育、いのちの大切さ、社会の人々のつながりをテーマに生涯、教育者として生きた彼。
そのゼミから生まれた『LOVE』(1972) 『The Fall of Freddie the Leaf (葉っぱのフレディ)』(1982) と著作が続きます。
